Pay as You Go!

Save your money, No retainer required!

Unlike traditional law firms that require a large lump sum of money up front (aka a retainer), DIY Family Law does not demand a retainer to speak with an attorney. Retainers in family law cases can cost litigants anywhere from $2,500-$10,000, from the start. That retainer is not guaranteed to get you through your legal case or through any specific portion of your case, it is simply what’s required to get you started. Save your money, educate and empower yourself to be a self-represented litigant. Pay as you go for exactly what you need, one hour at a time!

Pay by the hour!

Everything at DIY Family Law is based on the amount of time spent working on your matter. An hour consulting session with Norah will cost the same as watching a one-hour educational video. Make your money go further when you pay by the hour for what you individually want help with.

“I have worked with Norah Alyami on and off for the last 5 years, in the San Francisco Unified Family Court System. Norah has literally been my custody savior! I’ve been wrapped up in a custody battle with an abusive co-parent since 2015. Things were really rough until I started working with Norah on my case. She knew just how to deal with the defense, when they were being dishonest and turning facts around on me, she knew just how to bring the truth back in to focus for the court. The stress of these legal cases will often cause trauma responses for me, and Norah is compassionate and grounded with her communication, and it brings me back into the present moment with strength.

Over the last 5 years, Norah helped me: Regain sole legal and physical custody and attain DV restraining order, earn a move-away order out of state, where I also won permanent sole custody of my son. And most recently, she was able to help me further protect my young child from abuse when another domestic violence restraining order was urgently needed and to hold the abusive parent accountable. Norah’s choice of language and demeanor is so strong and so honest, to me, she is the perfect fit for me and my child. I really would not be where I am today without her help. I recommend her to anyone, especially anyone dealing with a domestic violence case.”
